Behind the Seams

an overview of our ethical, sustainable, and audited supply chain.

STAGE 1

Organic Cotton Farms

Happy Earth's organic cotton is sourced from certified farms in India. Primarily from Madhya Pradesh, the farms are located very close to our yarn supplier - which sources cotton directly from the farms.

STAGE 2

Yarn Sourcing

Pratibha Syntex in Madhya Pradesh provide the yarns we use for our fabric. They're leaders in sustainable production, certified by BCI, OCS, GOTS, and Cradle to Cradle.

They have recently added solar panels that account for 30% of their energy use; improved their effluent treatment plant; purchased new, high-efficiency machinery; and they engage in social initiatives to generate employment for women in rural communities.

STAGE 3

Fabric

100% of Happy Earth fabric is made at Fabstract in Noida, India. Certified by OCS, GOTS, and Fair Trade USA, employees are guaranteed good working conditions and living wages.

Fabstract has also made numerous safety and environmental improvements to their Green Factory, including solar panel installation, water filtration and recycling, air purifiers, and a courtyard garden for worker well-being. We visited and audited this facility in February 2024.

STAGE 3

Dyeing

Ambika Knits in Gurugram, India is used for dyeing and mill washing the fabrics - and Gupta Exim brushes fabrics when needed (for fleece!). Both suppliers are GOTS Certified.

STAGE 3

Stitching + Finishing

Construction of our garments, including cutting, sewing, and finishing is completed in the Green Factory at Fabstract - the same as our fabrics.

STAGE 4

Warehouse

All Happy Earth products are received, stored, and shipped from our warehouse in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
